Physician Appointments at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children

Wilmington, DE – We are pleased to announce the following physicians have accepted new positions at Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.

Jay S. Greenspan, MD, MBA, has been appointed The Robert L. Brent Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Jefferson Medical College and Nemours Children’s Clinics, Delaware Valley. He has served as Acting Chair since 2006 and Professor of Pediatrics at Jefferson since 1997. Dr. Greenspan earned his medical degree at Case Western University in Cleveland, OH and his postgraduate training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In 2005, he completed a Masters in Business Administration at Capella University.

E. Anders Kolb, MD, was appointed the new Director of the Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Program. Dr. Kolb graduated from Jefferson Medical College, his completed residency at St. Christopher's Hospital and received his fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Prior to joining Nemours, he worked at Children's Hospital at Montefiore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York where he directed both the stem cell transplantation and the leukemia/lymphoma services.

Udayan K. Shah, MD, FAAP, FACS, is a pediatric otolaryngologist at the duPont Hospital for Children. He is a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine, where he completed his residency in Otolaryngology and served as Administrative Chief Resident. He completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he practiced for nine years. He is active with professional societies and currently holds leadership positions in the American Society for Pediatric Otolaryngology and the Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Advances in Children.

Patrick C. Barth, MD, is a pediatric otolaryngologist at the duPont Hospital for Children. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann School of Medicine. Dr. Barth completed his residency at Geisinger Medical Center and a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at duPont Hospital for Children. He was a visiting fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children in London.

Raquel Tapia, MD has joined the Division of Nephrology at Nemours. Dr. Tapia is a graduate of the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo. She completed her pediatric residency at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, in Brooklyn, NY and received her Pediatric Nephrology training at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore/AECOM of Yeshiva University in Bronx, NY.
