Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death of American children ages 1 to 14 years.
Wilmington, DE -- The Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in conjunction with Get on Board with Child Safety! – a national injury prevention campaign spearheaded by Dorel Juvenile Group’s Safety 1st brand and the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI) – has opened the Nemours Safety Store.
The Nemours Safety Store, located in the duPont Hospital’s Main Lobby next to the cafeteria, will help families learn about injury prevention and purchase items necessary to keep their children secure. It is one of six locations across the country.
Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death of American children ages 1 to 14 years, and many parents and caregivers are unaware of the risks around the home and on the road that present a danger to their children. By opening safety stores and centers and through participation in the Get on Board with Child Safety! campaign, the duPont Hospital is involved in promoting injury prevention as a priority for families and caregivers.
