Three Nemours physicians received awards on Sunday, January 12, 2009from the BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc., at a special presentation concert by the Orlando Philaharmonic Orchestra for their“Extraordinary Service for Children with Cancer.” The 2008 Nemours Children’s Clinic Orlando (NCCO) recipients were Hematology/OncologyDivision Chief Paul R. Gordon, M.D., Ramamoorthy Nagasubramanian, M.D., and Judith E. Wall, M.D., NCCO clinic medical director.
The doctors were honored for their service and dedication treating children with cancer in the Central Florida area. “It was a terrific event and we were grateful for the recognition of our work in the community,”says Paul R. Gordon, M.D., Hematology/Oncology Division chief. “There is a lot more work to be done and we look forward to expanding Nemours’services as we begin to break ground on our new children’s hospital inFebruary.”
BASE Camp is a 501(c)3 organization that helps children diagnosed with cancer by providing meals, recreation and othe runique events through partnerships with area hospitals, doctors and clinics. Founded in Florida more than 25 years ago BASE Camp is affiliated with the national Candlelighter’s Childhood Cancer Foundation.
