Healthiest Kids in the Nation Campaign

Nemours Health and Prevention Services (NHPS) has been nationally recognized with three prestigious awards for its Campaign to Make Delaware’s Kids the Healthiest in the Nation. They include a Judge's Choice award in the 2009 Aster Awards Competition, a Gold Award for Health Promotion Program from the 2009 Healthcare Advertising Awards, and a Bronze Award for a Consumer Media Campaign - Local in the 2009 Summit Creative Awards competition.

The Aster Awards is one of the nation’s largest competitions for healthcare marketing and advertising. From approximately 3,000 entries there were only 10 Judge's Choice awards given. Winners are posted on the Aster Awards' website: www.asterawards.com, and published in Marketing Healthcare Today magazine. In the 26th annual Healthcare Advertising Awards competition, sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, over 3600 entries were received. A list of winners is available on their website: www.hmrpublicationsgroup.com. And the Summit Creative Awards (SCA), recognizing the accomplishments of small and medium sized advertising agencies and creative companies worldwide, received thousands of entries from 26 countries. Winners can be found on the SCA website: www.summitawards.com. NHPS worked closely with Worldways Social Marketing to create this award-winning social marketing campaign.

The Campaign to Make Delaware’s Kids the Healthiest in the Nation is a multimedia statewide childhood obesity prevention effort that promotes the 5-2-1-Almost None lifestyle. This formula encourages kids and adults to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, limit screen time to no more than two hours a day, get at least one hour of physical activity each day, and drink almost no sugar-sweetened beverages like sodas and sports drinks.
