Newark, DE: Nemours Health and Prevention Services (NHPS) wasrecently honored with three awards from the Sixth Annual ServiceIndustry Advertising Awards (SIAA): a Gold Award in NewspaperAdvertising – Series; a Gold Award for Television Advertising and aMerit Award for Total Advertising Campaign. A national panel of judgesevaluated and rated entries in 12 groups and 27 categories. More than250 advertising agencies and 900 service institutions entered thecompetition.
NHPS won for the Kids Can’t Do It Alone campaign, part of its statewide obesity prevention efforts that promote the 5-2-1-Almost None lifestyle.This formula encourages kids and adults to eat at least five servingsof fruits and vegetables a day, limit screen time to less than twohours a day, get one hour or more of physical activity each day, anddrink almost no sugar-sweetened beverages like soda and sports drinks.
The print ads in the campaign feature Min, Andres, Brian, and Jada, members of The Mighty Timoneers, an animatedmini-series about four kids from Delaware who wind up on an incrediblejourney that helps then understand the importance of eating well andstaying active. Each Timoneers character is associated with one of the 5-2-1-Almost None behaviors. The TV advertisement features all four characters with a family living the 5-2-1-Almost None lifestyle.
TheService Industry Advertising Awards was initiated in 2003 to recognizethe advertising excellence of the service industry. “The serviceindustry continues to be a major factor in our economy, and thereforethe advancement of services advertising is at the cutting edge of theadvertising industry,” stated Jan Michael Lok, Executive Director ofthe SIAA Awards. NHPS worked closely with Worldways Social Marketing tocreate this award-winning advertising campaign.
