Nemours Appoints Raymond Remmer to Oversee Nemours Clinics in Florida

Nemours, one of the nation’s premier pediatric health systems, today announces the appointment of Raymond Remmer as practice administrator – Nemours Florida. In this role he will report to R. Jay Cummings, M.D., vice president physician practices – Nemours Florida, and guide Nemours’ mission to improve the health of children through an integrated system of pediatric care in Florida. The appointment is effective immediately. 

As the practice administrator – Nemours Florida, Remmer will be responsible for managing and directing the three Nemours Children’s Clinics in Florida (Jacksonville, Orlando, and Pensacola) in support of the physician staff while incorporating best practices that improve efficiency and ensure high quality patient services.

A graduate of the University of Florida with master's degrees in both business administration and health administration, Remmer joined Nemours in 1998 and spent six years with the Florida practice. More recently, he served in Nemours-wide roles as assistant administrator of Patient Operations from 2004 - 2006 and director of administrative affairs for the Office of the President from 2006 - 2009. He also served as team leader for the Certificate of Need applications for Nemours Children’s Hospital in 2006 and 2007.  

Remmer replaces Bill Winder who was appointed early last year to a newly created position of senior administrator – Nemours Florida. In his new role, Winder is collaborating with a team of professionals in leading the development and integration of the Nemours Florida system of care, including Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando.
