Wilmington, DE— Ayyappan Rajasekaran, PhD, Director of the Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research (NCCCR), has accepted an invitation to the Editorial Board of Cancer Research, the most frequently cited cancer research journal in the world.
Cancer Research is published twice a month by the American Association for Cancer Research, located in Philadelphia, PA. Its focus is on original studies in all areas devoted to cancer and cancer-related biomedical sciences. Topics covered include cell and tumor biology; clinical research; endocrinology; epidemiology; experimental therapeutics, molecular targets, and chemical biology; immunology; and prevention.
As a member of the Editorial Board, Dr. Rajasekaran will partake in advising the Editor-in-Chief on the direction of the journal as well as reviewing manuscripts for scientific content, clarity of presentation, and acceptability for publication.
Under the direction of Dr. Rajasekaran, NCCCR is working to create a National Cancer Institute-designated center where basic research closely complements clinical research in childhood cancers and develops strategies to advance cancer awareness, diagnosis and treatment. The Center’s research efforts are focused in three key areas: identifying cancer biomarkers, developing nanotechnology-based drug delivery approaches, and discovering novel targeted drugs.
