The 2nd Annual Hear We Go 5K will be held Sunday, May 23, 2010. The run will be held on the exquisite grounds of Nemours Mansion & Gardens, arguably the largest formal French garden in North America. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the race starts at 9:00 a.m.
An estimated three out of every 1,000 babies born in the United States each year have some degree of hearing loss – and even a mild hearing
loss can affect a child’s ability to speak and understand language, as well as social and emotional development. The Hear We Go 5K run/walk was started to raise awareness about the importance of proper and timely diagnosis and management of hearing loss in children in order to facilitate their language development. Proceeds from this event will benefit clinical and research programs related to hearing loss and hearing conservation in children at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and Nemours Biomedical Research.
Following the 5K race, participants are encouraged to stay for refreshments, entertainment, a raffle, and an education fair at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. Cost is $20 for those who register before 3:00 p.m. on May 20 and $25 thereafter. Register as an individual or form a team.
The 2nd Annual Hear We Go 5k will be held rain or shine. Nemours Mansion & Gardens is adjacent to the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, located at 1600 Rockland Rd., Wilmington, DE, 19803. For more information or to register for the event, call 302-651-6839 or visit Run the Day.
