Wilmington, DE — Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is pleased to announce that it has been chosen as a beneficiary of the 2011 Best of Delaware Party. The hospital, which has served children and families in Delaware for more than 70 years, is one of the three appointed beneficiaries this year.
Hospital CEO and Nemours Senior Vice President, Kevin Churchwell, MD, said, "We are delighted that Delaware Today has chosen Nemours as a beneficiary in 2011. This comes at a time when we are embarking on a major expansion project that will enable the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children to better serve the children and families of our community. Support from the Best of Delaware Party is a great example of helping us help more kids in more ways than ever before, and we thank you."
The July 21 Best of Delaware event at the Chase Center on the Riverfront features an evening filled with food, dancing, and good company. With live entertainment and nearly 100 winners exhibiting their winning ways, the Best of Delaware Party has become the premier summer event in the state.
The Best of Delaware Party’s success is evident in the $1 million raised over the past 22 years for various local charities. In the last two years alone, three announced charities and two grantees were awarded a total of more than $100,000 from Best of Delaware proceeds. Delaware Today, and the Today Media Charitable Foundation, will continue the trend in 2011.
