Wilmington, DE - Renée Wulf, Certified Medical Interpreter, Spanish language, at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, is the first medical interpreter in Delaware to be nationally certified through the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters.

Ms. Wulf’s certification is a proud achievement for duPont Hospital for Children, putting us on the forefront in advancing the medical interpreting profession.  “It illustrates the important role trained interpreters have as part of our health care team and our continuing efforts to ensure patient safety through effective communication,” explains Ed Woomer, Senior Administrative Director, Patient Relations.

Ms. Wulf has been with Nemours since 2006. Prior to that, she was a contract interpreter for Language Service Associates, Willow Grove, PA. Ms. Wulf graduated with a BA in Sociology at Northeastern University, and has an M.S. in Sociology from Colorado State University.

“Professional certification is becoming the standard for dedicated medical interpreters. It highlights the fact that the medical interpreting profession has standards of practice, competency criteria and a code of ethics. The presence of an interpreter with proper training benefits providers and patients to ensure the best health care outcomes,” says Ms. Wulf.

Nemours is committed to offering the best patient experience possible to non-English speaking families in the most beneficial way by providing interpreters.
