A new KidsHealth® KidsPoll surveyed 1,154 kids ages 9 to 13 on what they worry about most often. Of the eight worries surveyed, here is how they ranked:

Reason for Worry or Stress  % of Kids Who Worry "Almost All the Time"
Health of a loved one  55%
Your future 43%
Schoolwork, tests, or grades 37%
Your looks or appearance 37%
Making mistakes or messing up  26%
 War or terrorism  25%
Your friends and their problems 24%
The environment 10%

KidsPoll also found that only 23% of kids surveyed said they “talk to a parent” when they worry. More kids (25%) ranked “talk to a friend” first and many kids (20%) said that they wouldn't talk about it at all but instead would “try to fix it and make it better.”
