Specialty Visits in Orlando, Lake Mary and Viera
For new patients
For specialty areas in Orlando, LakeMary, and Viera, Florida, there are a few ways to schedule an appointment for your child:
1. You or your child’s primary care doctor may call directly.
Either you or your child’s referring doctor can call the specialty clinic directly at (407) 650-7715. An automated system will ask if the child is a new patient. If the answer is “yes,” then press “1” to be connected to the intake office.
The intake office will pre-register your child by asking for your child’s name, address, phone number, date of birth, primary care doctor, and insurance information. Afterwards, the call will be immediately transferred to a patient service representative who will schedule the appointment. If medical records or lab results are required for the appointment, we will request these via fax from the referring doctor. We will also mail a welcome letter confirming the appointment and a “New Patient” packet to you.
In some cases, an appointment cannot be scheduled prior to a review of your child’s records. In those cases, the intake office will pre-register your child and then let you know that they will call you back to schedule the appointment after the requested medical records have been received and reviewed.
2. Your child’s primary care doctor may fax a referral or use the e-Referral system.
Your child’s primary care doctor can make a referral to a specialty clinic via fax or the e-Referral service on Nemours.org. The intake office will receive this referral and then contact you to pre-register your child and schedule the appointment. We will make 3 attempts to contact you by phone. If we cannot reach you, we will leave a message asking that you call us back.
In some cases, an appointment cannot be scheduled prior to a review of your child’s records. In those cases, the intake office will pre-register your child and then coordinate with the referring doctor, via fax or the e-Referral system, to get any necessary records or lab results. Once we have that information, we will contact you again to schedule the appointment.
