An Interactive Patient Experience

At Nemours, we want to empower patients and their families by placing them at the center of their own care experience. That’s why we’ve equipped patient rooms with the GetWellNetwork PatientLife System^®, which turns the in-room television into an interactive resource. Using a wireless keyboard, touchscreen, or handheld device, patients and families can interact with the system directly at the bedside.

In addition to entertainment and communication tools, the GetWellNetwork allows patients to access, and clinicians to “prescribe,” important patient-education videos.  Specifically designed for parents, kids, and teens, these videos are developed by Nemours’ award-winning KidsHealth^® team of clinicians, writers, designers, producers, and animators.

Nemours’ integrated approach to patient care is truly unique in the field of pediatric health systems. As a leader in children’s health care, we not only develop new and innovative products for use in our own care facilities, but also for use in children’s hospitals throughout the country.  Currently, two Nemours partners – Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware, and Wolfson Children’s Hosptial in Jacksonville, Florida – also offer this unique service, and more are sure to follow.
