What is the trial about?

The purpose of this study is to find out the right amount of medicine to help keep your asthma under control. This is achieved by finding the best plan strategy for children with asthma to help prevent children from entering the red zone.

Who can participate?

Children between 5-11 years of age and that have had at least one bad asthma attack in the past year.

What is involved?

This study is 52 weeks in duration, has eight study visits and six study telephone calls. More study visits or telephone calls may happen if your child’s asthma worsens. Most visits will take about one hour. The first two visits will be about two hours each. The telephone calls will take less than 15 minutes each.   

Medications include Fluticasone 44 mcg or Fluticasone 220 mcg.

Information collected and tests will include medical history, physical exam(s), questionnaires, breathing test, blood test, urine test, nasal mucus sample, asthma action plan review and diary data review.
