A Randomized Double Blinded Trial of Topical Caphosol to Prevent Oral Mucositis in Children Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

What is the trial about?

To find out if a new medicine, Caphosol, can improve one of the unwanted effects of stem cell transplants, oral mucositis.

Who can participate?

Children and young adults who are about to undergo a stem cell transplant for any reason are eligible. 

What is involved?

  • Participants are expected to receive treatment and be assessed daily on this study for about one month. 
  • Participants will receive Caphosol or a saline mouth rinse and have oral mucositis measured daily throughout treatment.
