Randomized Trial of Levofloxacin to Prevent Bacteremia in Children Being Treated for Acute Leukemia (AL) or Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT)

What is the trial about?

Compare the effects of Levofloxacin on people receiving intensive cancer treatment or stem cell transplant to find out if it is better than no preventative bacterial infection treatment.

Who can participate?

Children receiving treatment for Acute Leukemia (AL) or a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT).

What is involved?

Length of study is 60-120 days. In addition to standard cancer care, muscle and joint tests will be performed.
