Nemours Graduate Education and Research Program

The Nemours Graduate Education and Research Program is affiliated with the University of Delaware Department of Biological Sciences as part of a Human Health Initiative.

Students accepted for study in the Department of Biological Sciences have the opportunity to perform thesis/dissertation research in laboratories of research scientists at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. This will be of particular interest to students seeking to perform translational research linking basic science hypotheses to clinical problems.

Graduate students who enter the Nemours Graduate Education and Research Program will choose to affiliate with one of the Graduate Research Concentrations in the Biological Sciences Graduate Program. This choice will determine the student's graduate curriculum and foster interactions among fellow graduate students and faculty with common research interests at both locations.   Students from other departments at the University of Delaware and from other universities can also perform research in our laboratories.

The student body has a student-run organization called SNERPS (Students of Nemours Education and Research Programs) that meets regularly for academic and social purposes.

In addition to all facilities and support programs available at the parent university, students also have free on-site parking, subsidized meals, links to other resources including Nemours InfoLink through the Nemours Intranet, and additional support for travel to meetings.  Travel award applications are due the first Monday of February, May, August, and November.
