Must I be part of Nemours to use Nemours clinical services?
Nemours clinical services are open to outside entities, through a signed Business Associates Agreement (BAA).
How do I submit a sample?
Once a signed agreement has been accepted, samples can be shipped by FedEx, directly to the lab, following our specific mailing instructions included on this website.
How is payment made to Nemours?
Nemours does not accept third person billing. Therefore, payment is made from facility to facility as noted in our general BAA.
Where is the lab located?
The lab is located 25 minutes south of Philadelphia, PA, on the campus of the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, 1600 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE.
What is the average turn-around-time (TAT) for samples?
TAT is dependent on the panel(s) requested, but in general our standard histochemistry panel has a TAT of 10 working days.
Is the lab certified?
The lab is certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act – CLIA. Our CLIA # is 08D0878042. A copy of our certificate is available from this website.
Is all testing done by certified technicians?
Muscle enzyme histochemistry and immuno-fluorescent staining is done by CLIA approved, certified technicians, HT (ASCP) and supervised by a CLIA Certified Technical Director.
What are the lab hours?
The lab is in operation Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The lab does operate on weekends or holidays. Samples are received in the lab, Monday through Thursday during standard operating hours.
When will I know my sample request has been completed?
The Core Services will notify you as soon as your sample testing is complete and slides will be returned by FedEx standard overnight delivery, unless otherwise requested.
