Welcome to the Nemours Office of Human Subjects Protection & Nemours Institutional Review Boards
The mission of NOHSP and the IRBs is to ensure that all research and experimental use of drugs and devices involving human subjects conducted under the auspices of any Nemours entity is conducted in a manner that assures the full protection of every participant as required by law and is in accordance with generally accepted precepts of the ethical conduct of research and with Nemours policy. The basic ethical principles underlying the acceptable conduct of research at Nemours are:
Respect for Persons
Acknowledging the dignity and autonomy of individuals, and assuring special protection to children involved in research.
Beneficence
Protecting individuals by maximizing anticipated benefits and minimizing possible harm.
Justice
Treating subjects fairly and assuring that that the benefits and burdens of research are equitably distributed.
