Termination of IRB approval of research: Permanently withdrawing approval for all research procedures. (Terminated research is closed and does not require continuing review.) (HSP#084)

Test Article: A drug, device, or biologic that is not currently approved for use by the FDA. (HSP#034)

Therapeutic misconception: A phrase used to define the experience of patients who tend to interpret information about clinical research, if presented to them by their healthcare provider, as being beneficial to them directly even if they are told that the study has no potential benefit to them (HSP#045)

Therapeutic Window: The time period, based on available scientific evidence, during which administration of the test article might reasonably produce a demonstrable clinical effect. (HSP-048)
