Behavioral Health
Nemours’ holistic philosophy and approach to caring for children extends beyond treating medical conditions to a child’s emotional and behavioral well being.
An array of services is provided to help meet the psychosocial (cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and social) needs of families and children. A team approach is used to evaluate, diagnose and treat a variety of emotional and behavioral problems. These issues are addressed with attention to their physical, genetic, developmental, emotional, cognitive, educational, social, spiritual, and family components. These problems are addressed with individual and family therapies, as well as psychological and psychiatric assessment and consultation services
Common referral problems include attention problems and hyperactivity, learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, medical adherence difficulties (difficulties following medical treatment plan), pain management, and other health-related behavioral and emotional problems.
Nemours’ psychologists and psychiatrists are trained in multiple pediatric clinical care areas. They use an integrated medical record that unifies patient care across specialties and locations, prompting physicians to consider best practices gained from Nemours experience and academic literature. Nemours provides excellent care that places the patient and family at the center, and we strive to create a uniquely satisfying experience bringing peace of mind to patients and families.
Nemours locations offer a range of behavioral health services. Please refer to the sites listed to the left for specific services available at each location.
