Cystic Fibrosis

The Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Program offers a comprehensive team approach for the treatment and management of children and young adults with cystic fibrosis. This Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-accredited program is a collaborative effort.

The team includes pediatric pulmonologists, adult pulmonologists, cystic fibrosis clinical nurse specialists, genetic counselors, gastroenterologists, nutritionists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and social workers. This dedicated team works together to meet the individual needs of each patient and provides patient and family education and support.

  • Respiratory therapy for airway clearance techniques
  • Assessment by a physical therapist
  • Referrals to genetic counselors
  • Family education day (once a year)
  • Educational materials provided during visits

  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Sweat testing

  • Acute and chronic respiratory illnesses
  • History of borderline or positive sweat test
  • History of poor growth
  • Recurrent respiratory infections
  • Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis
  • Chronic sinusitis or nasal polyps
