Safe Kids Day 2014

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., April 12, 2014

Schedule of Activities

Car Seat Safety Check

10 a.m. to noon.

Parents can have their child's car seat checked for proper installation. Be sure to bring your car, your child, and the car seat. The check takes about 30 minutes per seat.


Bike Rodeo

10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Kids are invited to participate in the Bike Rodeo. They'll learn the “rules of the road,” when riding their bike, and the importance of wearing their helmet correctly. Remember to bring your bikes and helmets, or be one of the first to arrive and receive a new helmet for free during the event.

Note: Limited helmet availability; first come, first served


Helmet Safety Demonstration

Every half hour beginning at 10:30 a.m.

See first-hand the benefits of wearing your helmet with a lively demonstration
by nurses from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at duPont Hospital for Children.

Safety information and giveaways will be available from a variety of vendors, and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.

About Safe Kids Day

Safe Kids Day is presented by the New Castle County Chapter of Safe Kids Delaware. Safe Kids is a partnership of community organizations, including Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, whose mission is to educate the community on childhood injury prevention. This free event teaches safety tips for kids with hands-on activities as well as car seat safety checks.
