Doctors:

Doctors and other caregivers within the Division of Hematology/Oncology diagnose and treat children with a variety of cancers (oncology). Patients are referred to us from primary care providers, family practice physicians, and pediatricians throughout northwest Florida and southern Alabama.

We’re part of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), an international organization that conducts research to identify cancer causes and pioneer promising new treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Our participation in COG allows us to offer the best care available. And our staff members are actively involved in clinical research to develop new treatments.

Patients receive outpatient chemotherapy treatments and intravenous (through a vein) drug infusions in a child-friendly environment. And we hold special clinics for children with cancer who require long-term follow-up.

Children who needed to be hospitalized for care are admitted to nearby Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. With assistance from our Nemours physicians, Sacred Heart now offers a Hematology/Oncology Pediatric Unit specially dedicated to children with cancer. The Thomas Jenkins Pediatric Oncology Unit is named after Dr. Jenkins, a Nemours hematologist/oncologist.
