The experienced, caring, board-certified cardiologists from the Nemours Cardiac Center, located at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children (AIDHC) in Wilmington, DE, provide cardiac evaluations and an extensive array of outpatient services to babies, kids, teens, and expectant mothers at a number of locations outside of the hospital.

Children are commonly referred to our clinics – including Nemours Children’s Clinic, Philadelphia –for evaluation of:

• heart murmurs
• chest pain
• fast heartbeat
• palpitations (irregular heartbeat)
• cyanosis (blue coloration)
• fainting

We also provide follow-up evaluation for children with known heart problems and for kids who have undergone heart surgery or heart transplantation. If your child needs tests, such as an electrocardiogram or an echocardiogram, they will be performed at the time of the visit in the same office, and results will be provided immediately after these tests are completed. When appropriate, we offer specialized remote monitoring, so we can monitor your child’s heart rhythm from your own home. Working as a team, we make sure that you have a complete understanding of your child’s condition, and we provide easy access via phone for any questions you may later have.

In order to provide our Philadelphia patients with emergency services and 24/7 inpatient hospital care, our cardiologists also have access to the facilities at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital – one of the many health care providers we’ve partnered with to make it easy for your child to get Nemours’ quality of care at locations most convenient to you.
