The Nemours Children’s Clinic, Jacksonville, provides comprehensive care for children with a wide variety of digestive disorders.
We have specialty programs for children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and eosinophilic esophagitis (allergic inflammation of the swallowing tube). We also have a dedicated inpatient service, consisting of physicians and nurse practitioners, for kids receiving total parenteral nutrition (when no food can be taken by mouth and nutrition must be given intravenously).
Once every six months, we also have a liver and intestinal transplant clinic staffed by a pediatric hepatologist (liver specialist). This means patients with complex liver diseases can now be seen locally instead of having to travel. This clinic allows close interaction and coordinated care between the hepatologist and our gastroenterologists.
