The Division of Endocrinology at the Nemours Children’s Clinic, Orlando provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to infants, children, and teens with disorders related to the endocrine system (hormones and growth) – including diabetes, growth disorders, abnormal thyroid function, disorders of puberty, and many more.
Our team of caregivers includes board-certified endocrinologists, dedicated nurses, nurse practitioners, a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educators, licensed clinical social workers, and medical assistants. To help us give your child the very best care, our endocrine testing center offers a full range of diagnostic services.
We’re also proud to say that our Pediatric Diabetes Education Program is one of the few in Florida certified by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). In 2007, we also received the coveted Education Program Recognition certification from the ADA – making us the first pediatric program in Central Florida, and only the second pediatric-specific program in the entire state, to have achieved such an award.
And we participate in many clinical trials (including studies involving therapies to promote growth and prevent diabetes) so that the kids we care for might benefit from the latest innovations and treatments in the field of pediatric endocrinology.
Children who need to be hospitalized are currently admitted to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. However, in 2012 kids will be able to stay at the new Nemours Children’s Hospital in Lake Nona’s “medical city.” The 620,000-square-foot children’s hospital will serve as the core of a 60-acre pediatric health campus featuring a children’s clinic, emergency department, diagnostic and ambulatory programs, as well as education and research centers.
