At Nemours Children’s Clinic, Jacksonville, we know kids. Nemours pediatric neurologists, neuropsychologists, and other experts provide sensitive, advanced neurologic care for children with injuries and conditions affecting the brain, spine and nervous system. For your convenience, Nemours neurologists also see patients at our Jacksonville South clinic location.

We partner seamlessly with your child’s own primary care provider and specialists from Wolfson Children’s Hospital and UF Health/Shands Jacksonville to deliver quality care that’s family-centered and kid-focused. At the Brunell Family Pediatric Neurodiagnostic Center, a five-bed facility located within Wolfson Children’s Hospital, kids with certain neurological disorders can receive advanced diagnostic image testing.

Working together, our board-certified pediatric neurology specialists can help your child deal with a wide range of complex neurologic issues that can affect movement, learning, behavior and other problems. Using the most advanced diagnostic tools, techniques and equipment, we bring together the medical training, expertise and judgment needed to address your child’s challenges. Because after all, kids just want to be kids, no matter what their neurological injury or condition.

  • cerebral palsy and other movement disorders
  • muscular dystrophy (MD), multiple sclerosis (MS), anterior lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gherig’s Disease) and other neuromuscular disorders
  • brain tumors, aneurysm and other neurovascular disorders
  • concussions and other traumatic brain injuries
  • hypotonia (muscle weakness caused by neurological problems)
  • neuropathy (nerve pain)

Sharing Our Pediatric Neurology Expertise with Mayo Clinic

Nemours’ expert pediatric neurologists do more than treat children. We share our knowledge and expertise with other medical professionals in the area. In a program dating back to 2005, our neurology specialists collaborate with Mayo Clinic Jacksonville to give Mayo residents practical training about the special challenges of treating kids with neurological issues.

We are proud to work with Mayo Clinic Jacksonville on this successful program — and happy to share our unique knowledge with other physicians. Because from our perspective, it’s all about the kids.
