Neurosurgery
From prenatal consultations for expectant parents to post-surgical evaluations, our Division of Neurosurgery at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children (AIDHC) offers hope for kids of all ages who need surgery involving the brain, spine, or nervous system.
And we understand that children with complex medical issues may need additional care. That’s why we offer families the convenience of on-site programs for Spinal Dysfunction, Brain Tumors, and Spasticity (cerebral palsy with increased tone).
At the Nemours Surgical Care Center (located on the second floor of the hospital) we provide the skills and expertise of a highly trained pediatric surgical team. And, from start to finish, you’ll have a point person called a “surgical nurse liaison,” who will keep you updated about your child’s progress during surgery, answer your questions, and help reduce your stress and worry.
Through our alliance with the Christiana Care Health System, the Christiana Care Medical Center also transfers newborns who need neurosurgical intervention to AIDHC for treatment.
