At Nemours, you’ll find our nurses anywhere your child needs care – from the operating rooms and inpatient units of the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children to the specialty outpatient clinics and community programs located throughout the Delaware Valley and Florida. Our highly qualified team has various responsibilities with one uniting goal: to provide outstanding, family-centered care.
Our pediatric nurses are an integral part of your child’s medical team. They play an important role in collaborating with doctors, social workers, pharmacists, and other health care professionals to assess your child’s health and develop a plan of care that addresses your child’s unique physical, emotional, social, and cultural needs.
Your child’s safety and comfort are always our top concern. Our nursing practice is at once compassionate and comprehensive, firmly grounded in science, based on national standards, and tailored to the individual needs of each child and family. As front-line caregivers, we pride ourselves on serving as effective advocates for our patients in every setting.
We’re also dedicated to involving parents in the care of their child – whether that means encouraging them at the bedside or providing hands-on training and education to ensure that they are comfortably and confidently able to handle any home medical care that may be necessary.
Our nursing staff is comprised of registered nurses who specialize in pediatrics, as well as advanced practice nurses. All of our nurses have specialized training in the care of children, particularly those with complex medical needs. Many have earned specialty certifications and advanced degrees, and several are actively involved in clinical research programs. They are frequently asked to share their knowledge through presentations and publications on the local and national level.
