If you’re pregnant and carrying a baby that may have a congenital condition, we'll work with you and your referring doctor to arrange for diagnostic testing (fetal MRI and/or echocardiogram) as well as specialty consultations, if needed.
Nemours Partners for Perinatal Management offers highly specialized care to families and their doctors to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary assessment of fetal abnormalities. Our goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential in life.
See this brochure for a list of all of our physicians, by specialty and condition. Select a doctor's name from the list for a professional profile and credentials.
Along with convenient on-site care from pediatric experts in more than 30 specialties, one of the things parents appreciate most about our program is our location at the duPont Hospital for Children, with its beautiful setting amid a park of huge oaks and inviting green lawns.
Plus, when you come here, you have access to all kinds of on-campus amenities:
If your baby needs surgical or overnight care in the hospital, we'll help make your family's experience as easy and stress-free as possible. Volunteers (always dressed in red tops) will offer complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate each day. You can place meal orders from the patient's menu, which may be pre-paid or paid with a credit card. And meals for mothers who are breastfeeding babies up to 6 months old are free. You can also unwind a little in the Family Resource Center (with a library, laundry room, business center, kitchenette, and on-site sleep rooms and showers).
If your baby needs to stay with us for a while and you'd like to keep your family (including siblings) together, the beautiful Ronald McDonald House of Delaware offers a comfortable "home away from home" right across the street from our campus, available at little (even no) charge.

A baby who comes into the world facing any kind of medical or surgical challenge needs immediate care from a highly skilled team of newborn experts. We provide exactly that at our intensive care units.
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level III referral center primarily for infants less than 30 days old who require surgery or services from our expert subspecialists. A collaborative effort of the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and the Christiana Care Health System (CCHS), our NICU is also supported by the Thomas Jefferson University. The neonatologists here are trained and board-certified in Pediatrics and Neonatology (newborn medicine) and are supported by a team of more than 20 neonatal nurse practitioners, specialty fellows, registered nurses, and other pediatric subspecialists. Together, we’re dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care for newborns with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions.
Completely redesigned in 2008, our NICU is a model of family-centered care. Our single-patient rooms (with a sleeper sofa, recliner, phone, data port, and flat-screen TV) allow for your family’s privacy and comfort as you stay with your baby. Sound-absorbent flooring and soft lighting also help to provide a calm, restful, soothing environment.
If your baby's born with a heart condition, our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) rooms have full beds so you can be available, day and night, when your child needs you the most.
Whether your baby needs to stay in the NICU, CICU, or just needs to come here to see our specialists, get detailed information on planning your visit.
