Nemours pulmonologists evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide long-term management for infants, children, and teens with a variety of lung and airway diseases.

We offer services unique to the region including:

• a nationally recognized aerosol laboratory - Our aerosol laboratory helps improve treatment for children with asthma, many of whom are prescribed aerosol medications (fine particles of medicine contained in a gas, usually air). It can be hard for these children to get complete benefit from these medications because the nebulizers and inhalers used to administer them can deliver particles that are too large to get into children’s lungs and do their work. Researchers in our aerosol laboratory study how to make these medicines work better by determining the right amount and size of particles needed to effectively treat children.
• a severe asthma management program
• central Florida’s only comprehensive neonatal RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) prevention program. RSV is a type of virus that affects the upper airway and lungs. The virus can be serious in young babies and children with other medical problems. Our program is aimed at preventing the virus in premature babies.
• a pediatric sleep center
