General Surgery
Our board-certified surgeons from the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the Nemours Children’s Clinic, Jacksonville offer evaluations, diagnosis, and follow-up care to the babies, kids, and teens of northeast Florida and southern Georgia.
The actual surgeries are performed by our Nemours surgeons at Wolfson Children’s Hospital – among the many health care providers we’ve partnered with to make it easy for your child to get Nemours’ quality of care at other convenient locations. Through our collaboration with Wolfson (connected to our clinic building by KidsWalk, an enclosed, elevated walkway), we’re also able to offer 24-hour emergency, inpatient, and consultative services.
We also provide prenatal consultations for fetal abnormalities detected during pregnancy that may require neonatal surgery (operations on newborns). And, when appropriate, we’re able to conduct surgeries using minimally invasive surgical techniques for children of all ages through our Minimally Invasive Surgery Program.
Whatever type of procedure your child needs, we request that your child come in for a pre-surgical evaluation, including a medical history and physical examination, within seven days before the surgery date. If necessary, some tests may be ordered.
