Minimally Invasive Surgery
The Nemours Surgical Care Center is located on the second floor of the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children (AIDHC). While all operating rooms are available for minimally invasive surgery, we have two state-of-the-art rooms dedicated entirely to this type of surgery.
Our staff consists of highly trained pediatric specialists including board-certified surgeons and anesthesiologists, as well as highly skilled nurses who understand both the physical and psychological needs of children undergoing surgery. Families also have contact with a “surgical nurse liaison” to help make the process as easy as possible and keep you updated about your child’s progress during surgery.
Whatever type of procedure your child needs, we request that your child come in for a pre-surgical evaluation, including a medical history and physical examination, within seven days before the surgery date. If necessary, some tests may be ordered.
