With warm, spring temperatures on the way, there's no doubt that kids will be ready to play outside. Help them stay safe while having fun. Bring the whole family to Safe Kids Day.

This free event will teach kids about safety and injury prevention with hands-on activities and giveaways.

Event Details

When: Saturday, April 14, 2012
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Where: Bellevue State Park
800 Carr Road, Wilmington, DE

Schedule of Activities

Car Seat Safety Check 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Parents can have their child's car seat checked for proper installation. Be sure to bring your car, your child, and the car seat. The check takes about 30 minutes.

Bike Rodeo 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Kids are invited to participate in the Bike Rodeo. They'll learn the “rules of the road,” when riding their bike, and the importance of wearing their helmet correctly. Remember to bring your bikes and helmets, or be one of the first to arrive and receive a new helmet for free during the event!*

*Limited helmet availability; first come, first served

Safety information and giveaways will be available at more than 20 booths, and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.

About Safe Kids Day

Safe Kids Day is presented by the New Castle County Chapter of Safe Kids Delaware. Safe Kids is a partnership of community organizations, including Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, a leading killer of children ages 14 and under.
