Accomplishments to Date
Since launching this multi-faceted social marketing campaign, we have had a number of accomplishments, which includes the following:
Launch Events with Delaware Leaders
In October 2007, Nemours Health & Prevention Services officially launch The Campaign to Make Delaware’s Kids the Healthiest in the Nation with the commitment of over 125 government and community leaders statewide.

Governor Minner, Lieutenant Governor Carney, U.S. Senator Tom Carper, U.S. Congressman Mike Castle, and Cabinet Secretary Cari DeSantis sign the pledge at Forest Oak Elementary School in Newark, DE. - October 2, 2007
Kids perform the "Barnyard Dance" at Del Tech Owens Campus Child Development Center in Georgetown and tackle the 5-2-1-Almost None obstacle course at North Dover Elementary School. - October 3, 2007
NHPS introduces the Sesame Street "Healthy Habits for Life" child care resource kit
Since launching the Campaign has had the following accomplishments:
- Over 850 people signed on to Campaign
- Over 10 million media impressions
- 4 BRONZE Telly Awards in the Not For Profit, Public Service and Campaign Advertising
- A GOLD Health Promotion Program award from the Healthcare Advertising Awards
- A SILVER COMMUNICATOR AWARD (The Award of Distinction) for the 2009 Communicator Awards
- The JUDGE'S CHOICE award for the 2009 Aster Awards
- A BRONZE from the Summit International Awards
Seeing recognition for this campaign and their very important message is encouraging, since childhood obesity is an epidemic that is plaguing many kids and families the U.S.
To reinforce the messages and awareness of the Campaign and our 5-2-1-Almost None healthy lifestyle message we have also placed numerous print, radio, billboard ads throughout the state of Delaware.
