Community Entertainment

By coordinating special events and visitors, celebrating holidays, and recognizing birthdays, the Child Life Program strives to make the hospital experience as positive as possible for our patients and their families. Check with your Child Life Specialist to see what is scheduled during your child’s admission.

  • Groups are to be no larger than 10 people, and participants must be 16 years and older.
  • It is imperative that all members of the group be free of infection. Anyone who has experienced symptoms of or been exposed to someone with the flu, measles, mumps, hepatitis, chicken pox, rash, diarrhea, or vomiting should not visit. While at the hospital, hand washing should occur at the beginning of your visit as well as after working with the patients.
  • Available hours are: Monday-Friday 6:00 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Groups should arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled time for set-up and to review the Activity Center policies.
  • All groups must check in at the Information Desk in the main lobby and call up to Child Life when they arrive.
  • Please be sure to dress appropriately. No shorts, tank tops, mini-skirts, or open-toed shoes may be worn. Stockings must be worn with skirts.
  • You must come with a planned activity. See more information regarding this in the complete guidelines for community entertainment groups
  • The visiting group will provide all materials for the project. When Community Entertainment groups visit the hospital, they are not permitted to leave the Activity Center during their visit. Our hospital volunteers will gather the patients and tell them about the special project.
