Camp Molly

A Fun and Safe Place for Siblings to Grieve

Camp Molly is a weekend sleepover camp for children and teens ages 8–17 who have experienced the death of a sibling. It provides a fun, safe place where kids can participate in camp activities while connecting with others who have experienced this type of loss.

We know that losing a sibling can be a difficult and lonely time, so meeting other kids who understand and have had similar experiences can help. At Camp Molly, kids grow to trust and share with one another, creating an environment for healing and friendship.

Camp Molly Mission for Kids

Camp Molly is a place where grieving kids can find their voices. It offers a safe outlet, a sense of normalcy, new ways of managing grief and a community that understands them.

The mission of Camp Molly is to provide children who have experienced the loss of a sibling a camping experience that connects them to kids in similar circumstances. Our camp provides a fun and safe way to express grief, and it also offers opportunities to remember their brothers and sisters.

Camp Molly is offered to children between the ages of 8–17 and is free of charge.

Goals at Camp Molly

Our camp aims to:
  • provide siblings with alternative outlets (art, music, circle time) to express feelings surrounding grief and loss that they would not otherwise be able to express
  • create a supportive environment that encourages siblings to share experiences, feelings and struggles with peers, trained professionals and volunteers
  • help decrease feelings of isolation and loneliness that are associated with the loss of a loved one
  • give siblings the opportunity to talk about their grief and their loved ones in a safe and judgment-free environment
  • nurture feelings of community by connecting siblings with other kids and teens with similar experiences
  • teach coping strategies that support your child’s abilities to deal with the stress and emotions associated with losing a loved one
  • allow “kids to be kids” in a place free of their everyday responsibilities
