The Best Protection From Measles: Vaccination

Thanks to our country’s vaccination program, measles was mostly wiped out in the United States in 2000. But some cases have still happened here and there. So far this year, the U.S. has seen the highest number of cases since 1994. There are now reports of measles in 24 states, including Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New York and New Jersey. These cases are mostly happening in communities with low measles vaccination rates.

If you or your child haven’t received an age-appropriate measles vaccination, we urge you to contact your doctor to talk about the benefits of vaccination. If you’re not sure if you or your child got the vaccine, please contact your doctor as soon as possible to make sure all of your family’s vaccines are up to date.
