Kim Reblock has served in several nursing leadership roles since she joined Nemours Children’s Hospital in 2012. Kim is responsible for all operations in the perioperative services, sterile processing department, surgical scheduling and sedation services, which includes accountability for departmental policies, procedures, scopes of service, staffing plans, budgets, key performance indicators, continuous improvement projects, patient-family relations, and quality and safety plans to maintain best practice standards.
Kim provides coverage for the chief nursing officer, assumes the role of operations section chief during emergency situations and contributes to decision making during critical patient census. She has been involved in new program development, including the planning, development and outfitting of a $10 million pediatric cardiac center inclusive of CVOR, Cath Lab and Critical Care Unit.
Kim has more than 30 years of experience in pediatric nursing and leadership. She began her career as a clinical nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care/Respiratory Care Unit at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), and served as inpatient surgical coordinator for the Department of Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery, assistant director of the Department of Trauma Prevention and ethics consultant during her 24 years with UPMC. Before joining Nemours in 2012, she spent five years with a pediatric specialty hospital and children’s and family health organization, as hospital director and chief clinical officer.
Kim earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and an MBA from Waynesburg University, where she served as adjunct faculty. She is board-certified as an Advanced Nurse Executive.
Kim brings a depth of diverse experience and accomplishments to the Nemours leadership team, including nursing recruitment and retention, team building, facilities management, hospital construction, supply chain management, information technology, marketing, care coordination, program development, strategic planning, contract and payor negotiations, quality assurance, infection control, staff and patient education, and clinical research. She serves on hospital committees to advance patient safety, patient care services, and medical staff quality. Kim brings strong business background and perspective to budgeting and cost containment while delivering high-quality patient- and family-focused care.
A highly collaborative member of the senior leadership group, Kim develops and maintains critical relationships with physicians, partner organizations, referral sources, board members and benefactors to develop and advance pediatric programs. She promotes the highest level of patient safety by cultivating a just culture and high reliability organization, and has earned respect from her teams and colleagues as a positive change agent.
Kim is currently serving as director of practice and quality on the board of the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association, and is a member of the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses, American Nurse Association, American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Organization of Nurse Leaders.
Kim is married to Adrienne with 3 children, Jordyn, Benjamin and Luca. She enjoys nature, music and learning new things. A perfect day is going to the beach with her family or hanging out with them by the pool. Favorite vacation spot is Sanibel Island with family and friends.>/p>
