Gina Ward joined Nemours Delaware Valley Board of Managers in August 2014.
Ms. Ward has been involved in healthcare throughout her professional life. Appointed by the governor of Delaware in 2012, she served as a public representative on Delaware’s Health Resources Board (DHRB) for over five years. The DHRB serves to promote the efficient use of healthcare resources across the state. Ms. Ward has also held board positions at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, Delaware, including the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and chairperson of the St. Francis Foundation.
Ms. Ward began her career at Baxter International, a global healthcare company in Deerfield, Illinois. For over a decade, Ms. Ward held positions in accounting, corporate finance and consulting. The last six years in Baxter’s Healthcare Consulting Services, Ms. Ward provided operational and strategic consulting to hospitals across the United States.
After a family expatriate assignment in Wiesbaden, Germany, Ms. Ward moved to Wilmington with her husband, Rod, and three children. Since 2002, she has enjoyed being an active board member, volunteer and advisor with many Delaware organizations. She currently serves on the boards of RodneyStreet and Tower Hill School where she chairs the Committee on Trustees. Ms. Ward also works closely with the Delaware Community Foundation’s Riverview Works Fund which focuses primarily on education and wellness.
She was born in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from the University of Notre Dame. She received her CPA designation in 1990.
