Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital to Benefit From Giving Tuesday

Tuesday, Nov 26, 2013

Delaware Valley

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children will become part of a national movement celebrating a day dedicated to giving. After Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday at the start of the annual holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday invites people who care about nonprofit organizations like Nemours to give generously.

A gift to Nemours on #GivingTuesday will support childhood cancer research and be matched thanks to the generosity of the D.O. Believe Foundation, which was founded by the family and friends of Dominic “The Dominator” Osorio. This young boy waged a brave battle with brain cancer and passed away just before his seventh birthday. The Foundation will match donations to Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Chidlren up to a total of $10,000 on #GivingTuesday.

Looking for the perfect antidote to Black Friday shopping? Please join #GivingTuesday to support childhood cancer research at Nemours and save lives.

About Nemours

Nemours is an internationally recognized children's health system that owns and operates the two free-standing children’s hospitals: the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del., and Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Fla., along with outpatient facilities in five states, delivering pediatric primary, specialty and urgent care. Nemours also powers the world’s most-visited website for information on the health of children and teens,, and offers on-demand, online video patient visits through Nemours CareConnect. Nemours is a program dedicated to preventing reading failure in young children, grounded in Nemours’ understanding that child health and learning are inextricably linked, and that reading level is a strong predictor of adult health.

Established as The Nemours Foundation through the legacy and philanthropy of Alfred I. duPont, Nemours provides pediatric clinical care, research, education, advocacy and prevention programs to families in the communities it serves.
