Nemours Expands in West Orange County

Nemours Children's Primary Care, Horizon West Is Now Open

Monday, Feb 15, 2016

Families in West Orange County now have greater access to Nemours Children’s Health System through a new pediatrician in the area. Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Horizon West opens its doors on February 15.

Dr. Christine Chan-Ragazzo, a board-certified pediatrician, will provide primary medical care to children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents — including immunizations, school physicals and newborn care.

Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Horizon West is located at 7315 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Suite 101 in Windermere, Fla.

The new office uses the same award-winning electronic health record as the other locations within the Nemours Children’s Health System. And if a patient needs to be treated by a pediatric specialist at Nemours Children’s Hospital, that specialist will have access to the child’s medical history. Chan-Ragazzo is also able to review any additional after-hours care provided to her patients at Nemours Children’s Urgent Care or through Nemours CareConnect, the new telehealth service that launched last fall.

“This shared electronic health record helps Nemours provide families with the safest, most cost-effective care,” said Dr. Christine Chan-Ragazzo, Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Horizon West. “I am able to spend more time with my patient families and less time chasing down information.”

In addition to English, Chan-Ragazzo is fluent in Tagalog, a language spoken in the Philippines.

This makes 14 Nemours Children’s Primary Care locations in Central Florida.  Nemours also operates six Nemours Children’s Urgent Care centers, three Nemours Children’s Specialty Care satellite locations and Nemours CareConnect, the country’s first pediatric telehealth app. Nemours Children’s Hospital opened in Orlando’s Lake Nona Medical City in October 2012.
