Nemours Expands Team to Help Lead Growth in Florida

Nemours Children’s Health System announced the promotion of two leaders, both charged with helping Nemours further expand in Florida.

Vonda Sexton is now the Managing Director of Strategy and Business Development for Florida. Her responsibilities include management and coordination of the strategic planning, business development and referral relations functions for Nemours Children’s Hospital, and all physician practices throughout Nemours’ Florida footprint including satellite sites. Sexton had been serving as the Director of Business Development and Strategy for Nemours in Central Florida. She will continue to be based in Orlando.

Carey Officer will now serve as the Director of Service Delivery Innovation where she will provide critical leadership and support for researching, evaluating, and incubating innovative clinical service delivery strategies including Telehealth. Officer previously served as Senior Strategic Financial Planning Consultant. She will continue to be based in Jacksonville.

Nemours has been growing rapidly in Florida. After opening Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando’s Lake Nona Medical City in October, 2012, the system now has 19 locations in Central Florida including Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Nemours Children’s Urgent Care and Nemours Children’s Specialty Care.

On September 1, 2014, Nemours announced it would place pediatric hospitalists at Wuesthoff Regional Medical Center - Rockledge. A similar agreement with Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport was announced in 2013.
