Nemours Announces New Professional Services Administrator at NCH

Nemours, one of the nation’s leading pediatric health care systems, today announces Jay R. Wolitz, M.P.H., C.M.P.E., as Administrator, Professional Services for Nemours Children’s Hospital (NCH), currently under construction in Lake Nona’s Medical City. Wolitz will provide health services administrative support to the Chief Medical Officer and department chairs at NCH.

As Administrator, Professional Services at NCH, Wolitz’s responsibilities will include providing support, general management advice, and research funding expertise, while assisting with business operations, logistics, human resources management, and performance improvement. In his new position, he will also coordinate with system leaders to develop key performance indicators to measure financial performance, provide organizational development, oversee alignment of administrative support programs, and facilitate sharing information across medical
staff departments.

Wolitz is a seasoned Nemours associate with exceptional experience in children’s health facilities and strategic administration. He began working for the organization in 2001 as the Associate Practice Administrator for the Nemours Children’s Clinic at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. In 2007 Wolitz moved into his most recent role as Administrator, Patient Operations in the Office of the Executive Vice President for Health Operations with the Nemours Foundation.

In this position, Wolitz provided operational, analytical, project management, and strategic-management support for Nemours’ hospitals and physician-faculty practices in four states. He was involved in major projects including the development of compensation plans, development of a research strategy, and improving ambulatory patient access. He also provided support to the COO in managing an annual health operations budget of
$500 million.

Wolitz attended Emory University and earned his bachelor’s of business administration in finance and his Master’s of Public Health (MPH) in health administration and policy. He also earned the American College of Medical Practice Executives (CMPE) certification which verifies expertise and experience in medical practice management. Wolitz is a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
