Family Advisory Council
Families like yours provided ideas and perspectives on what they wanted in a children’s hospital — and we listened. Our Family Advisory Council is made up of parents and Associates who advise us on everything from hospital policy to patient care — and empowers our patient families by providing information, education, and support. Teen Advisory Council
Teens — patients and siblings ages 13 to 17 — meet monthly to share their visions to enhance our programs and overall care.

Kids ages 8 to 11 come together to share ideas and work on projects that help make our hospital more comfortable and kid-friendly.

Family As Faculty Program
Families of the kids we see share stories with our Associates, giving them a unique view of patient care from a parent's perspective.
We strive to actively include families in our physicians' daily rounds (when the entire care team goes from room to room to discuss the care of each child staying with us).
There are no visiting hours for parents and legal guardians of children staying with us (inpatients) — you’re welcome here all day, every day. You can stay with your child 24 hours a day, seven days a week if you want to. You can also designate other “partners in care” who can be here with your child as well — any day, any time — to provide support and promote healing.
We give you timely, accurate, and family-friendly information so you can be an advocate for your child.

Chaplains and volunteers are trained to respect the religious commitments of all of our families, as well as those who do not identify with any particular religion — providing comfort and support as you cope with your child’s illness and hospital stay. Learn more »
Interpretation services are available to patients and families who do not speak English, or are hearing impaired. We also strive to offer Spanish translated forms, educational materials, and signs as available so we can communicate more effectively. Learn more »
We’re always ready to help our patient families manage the financial aspects of medical care by assisting with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment, applying for financial assistance, or working out a payment schedule to fit your budget. Learn More »
