Two-year-old Emma wanted to play with blocks, but a rare condition meant she couldn't move her arms. Nemours Researchers used 3D-printing to create a custom exoskeleton to help her do the things she loves.
Nemours began more than 70 years ago with the vision of Alfred I. duPont to improve the lives of children. Since then, our team of more than 4,600 dedicated Associates, including nearly 600 pediatric physicians, has cared for millions of kids and their families in our world-class hospitals and specialty clinics.
Recognized as one of the nation’s premier pediatric health care systems, we’ve made a promise to do whatever it takes to prevent and treat even the most disabling childhood conditions.
Nemours: A Children's Health System
Family-centered care is the cornerstone of our health system. We partner with parents and children to help us deliver care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, design our facilities, educate our staff, and develop and evaluate policies and programs.
We work closely with referring physicians and community providers to ensure the well-being of each child and family. This model of care is supported by leading edge electronic health record (EHR) technology, accessible to all providers, including referring physicians and families.
Quality & Safety
We rigorously measure and compare our quality and safety outcomes to see how our care affects the children we treat — and how we compare with other pediatric health care providers across the country. We’re proud that we are doing better than the national average in many of our specialties and processes. And we’re always looking for new ways to continuously improve.
Helping Kids Grow Up Healthy
We want to help give kids the very best chance to grow up healthy and reach their full potential — even children who may never enter the doors of our hospitals or clinics. That’s why we stand along with parents, physicians, community leaders, children's advocates, and elected officials to create and promote educational programs that benefit children’s health and well-being.
Headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, Nemours BrightStart! is the first program of its kind that researches, develops, and offers evidence-based tools to help identify and teach children at risk for reading failure and dyslexia. Go to ReadingBrightStart.org »
When kids are healthy, both emotionally and physically, they’re better able to face life’s challenges, make good choices, develop positive self-esteem, and build strong relationships.

Child Care initiative is a nationwide call-to-action to empower early education and child care programs to make positive changes to promote children’s health and prevention of childhood obesity.
Nemours played an active role in developing Let’s Move! Child Care, including the creation and maintenance of the initiative's website.
