Biography

Dr. Franciosi has been the Division Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Nemours Children's Hospital for the past six years and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida. He was an inaugural faculty at Nemours Children's Hospital, leaving Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in 2012 to build pediatric gastroenterology services in a leadership role at this new institution. He accomplished an accelerated Pediatric Residency and Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition training program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. During this time, Dr. Franciosi also obtained a Master's Degree in Clinical Research at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine. His present academic pursuits are in the fields of pediatric esophageal disorders such as eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease, pharmacogenomics, and in telehealth. He has published over 100 abstracts and peer-reviewed publications, has developed an internationally recognized patient-reported outcome questionnaire, launched the first pediatric transnasal esophagoscopy program in the Southeast, and has been awarded over a million dollars in external research funding. He is acknowledged for his "servant leadership" skill set, innovation, work ethic, sense of humor and collaborative spirit.
