Collaborating for Kids
Nemours collaborates with Saint Francis Healthcare to extend advanced, around-the-clock pediatric care to children and families in Wilmington, Del., and the surrounding communities.
Neonatal Intensive Care Collaboration
Children are different from adults and need specialized care, so Nemours neonatology physicians and nurse practitioners are there for families at Saint Francis Healthcare to provide advanced care to premature, high-risk and critically ill infants in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), which the hospital has named the Special Care Nursery. Working alongside the Saint Francis Healthcare staff, our neonatology team is complemented by the hospital’s highly trained nursing staff, pharmacists, rehabilitation therapists, respiratory therapists and social workers.
Nemours and Saint Francis Healthcare also work together to:
- coordinate care, when needed, with our specialists at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del.
- facilitate the transfer of extremely ill patients to duPont Hospital for Children

The Nemours electronic health record system is one of the most advanced in the country and allows our medical teams to accurately and instantly share crucial information related to your child's care.
Our system gives our pediatric specialists access to all of your child's medical information, treatment plans and test results, even if you're visiting a Nemours collaborating hospital or satellite office.
Your pediatrician or family care provider can also access your child's medical record, any time, day or night through our special community physician online portal, called NemoursLink. You also can view your child's health records, make appointments, request refills and more with our parents' portal, MyNemours.
