Nemours Children’s Hospital offers Central Florida families advanced surgical and medical services to treat kids — not just their conditions. And we always include you as part of your child's care team. Our leading-edge inpatient and outpatient pediatric care includes services such as:
Surgeons at Nemours Children's Hospital (NCH) are skilled in procedures that lead to successful outcomes — with less pain and shorter recoveries. We specialize in surgery for the full spectrum of pediatric specialties and subspecialties, including:
Whatever type of procedure your child might need, we'll make sure your child is comfortable before, during and after surgery. At NCH, you can even accompany your child into the operating room, which lets you provide comfort until anesthesia is given.
Nemours Children's Hospital brings new expertise in pediatric surgery to Central Florida. Our facility has eight operating rooms dedicated to performing surgeries for nearly every condition, including minimally invasive procedures. Our No. 1 goal is to use the least invasive surgical procedure available so kids can get back to being kids, sooner — with less pain and discomfort.
Our pediatric surgical specialists (surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses) understand what kids and families need — psychologically and physically.
Because we truly believe in family-centered care, we invite you (one parent or guardian) to the operating room to be with your child until just after sedation. We also provide our families with a peaceful place to wait (without leaving the surgical floor) in our surgical commons area and beautiful rooftop garden.
The best way to prepare for any surgery, whether it's a routine outpatient procedure or a complex operation requiring an overnight hospital stay, is to be open and honest with your child. Kids of all ages cope better when they have a clear idea about what’s happening and why — and how they might feel before, during and after the procedure.
At Nemours Children's Hospital, our philosophy of holistic, child- and family-centered care means that pediatric hospitalists, Child Life specialists, nutritionists, educators and social workers will also play important roles in your child’s healing process.
During any operation or procedure, your child's well-being and safety are our top priorities. Nemours is an internationally recognized children's health system and a national leader in surgical results and overall quality of surgical care.
Nemours Children’s Hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation by demonstrating compliance with their national standards for health care quality and safety in hospitals. The accreditation award recognizes our dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission's state-of-the-art standards.
